How to Prepare Your Passionfruit

Pick a ripe one first: A ripe passionfruit has a deeply wrinkled, dimpled skin. Smooth skin means it needs a few more days on the counter at room temperature.

• Wash: Rinse under cool running water and pat dry.
• Halve: Cut the fruit in half crosswise with a sharp knife — you'll see the vibrant golden pulp and seeds inside.
• Scoop: Use a spoon to scoop the pulp directly into a bowl or onto your dish. 
• Seeds: The small black seeds are completely edible and add a light crunch. Eat them as-is or strain the pulp through a fine-mesh sieve if you prefer seedless juice.
